Montego Bay facility kicks off positive energy in Jamaica
We're powering Jamaica with positive energy
Once upon a time – back in 2015 – we began investing in Montego Bay on Jamaica’s northwestern coast. Our first liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility was commissioned just 15 months later, enabling the country to diversify its energy supply for the first time. The positive energy of this vibrant island nation is reflected in the positive energy of LNG, which offers a cleaner, more affordable alternative to Jamaica’s longtime reliance on oil. Now the country’s 145-megawatt Bogue power plant and local industrial customers are drawing LNG from our state-of-the-art facility, which features landed storage, truck loading facilities, a regasification plant, and natural gas pipelines – and the happily-ever-after this beloved island deserves.
