Fast LNG
OUR LNG SOLUTIONS
Fast LNG fast-tracks the path to positive energy
We’re floating a new solution into the natural gas liquefication world: making it happen offshore. Meaning we can bring this pioneering capability to any coast, making LNG more accessible for everyone and delivering LNG anywhere in the world. That’s the positive power of Fast LNG.
Our proprietary Fast LNG design is an offshore natural gas liquefaction facility built on platforms. It all starts at the shipyard, where we build our standardized, modular liquefaction units.
This offshore operation gives us unique access to stranded gas and gas that might otherwise be flared, with clear environmental benefits. We process the gas through the treatment module, then liquefy it through the liquefaction module.
The LNG is transferred from the facility to a floating storage unit (FSU) – which is cheaper, faster, safer, and better for the environment than land-based storage. When it’s ready for shipment, the LNG is transferred from the FSU to an LNG tanker, then carried to markets around the world!
How Fast LNG works
-
Modules are fabricated
Standardized modules for liquefaction, gas treatment and utilities fabricated at shipyard. Assembled in close proximity to their installation locations to minimize transportation time and risk of damage.
-
Modules & major equipment are installed on platforms
Modules and major equipment (such as the cold box, mixed refrigerant compressors and gas turbines) are installed on platforms at shipyard. Three platforms total per Fast LNG unit: one each for liquefaction, gas treatment and utilities.
-
Platforms are transported & installed offshore
Platforms transported from shipyard to designated offshore location. Platforms installed offshore and connected with bridges.
-
FSU is connected
Facility is connected to a Floating Storage Unit (FSU) via a cryogenic flexible hose system. FSU stores LNG for transloading to LNG tankers.
-
Natural gas supply is connected
Natural gas supplied to facility via hot tap into a series of offshore wells, a gathering system or subsea pipeline.
-
LNG is produced & shipped
Natural gas is processed by the gas treatment module, then liquefied by the liquefaction module. When ready for shipment, LNG is transferred from the FSU to an LNG tanker via flexible hose. LNG is shipped to various markets around the world.
