Where are NFE scholars today? Spotlight on Crystal Duncombe
OUR FOUNDATION
Our scholars
are doing remarkable things
Crystal Duncombe earned a New Fortress Energy (NFE) Foundation scholarship in 2017 to pursue her dream of attending medical school. Today, she has completed her MBBS examinations and is a doctor in Jamaica. We're honored to have played a small part in helping Crystal turn her passion into a promising career that also has the potential to make a life-changing difference in others’ lives.
A letter from Crystal
"I hope you are well. I am sending this e-mail with gratitude. I have completed my final MBBS examinations and I have been successful. I am now a doctor. It would not have been possible without the commitment of the New Fortress Energy. I very appreciative of your support over the last three years. You’ve only been with me for three but your commitment has made it seem like five. I am currently in the process of sorting out my internship with the Ministry of Health. The hope is that we will start on Monday morning. I am hoping to work at Spanish Town Hospital.
I came across your scholarship when I had lost all hope for financial progress and assistance in medical school. It was in August 2017, right after my paternal grandmother passed away and simultaneously after I was deregistered from school, that I came across your scholarship on the University’s Office of Student Financing Website.
Your commitment to my progress had been second to none. Because of you, my tuition fees were paid even months before they were due, and I never faced deregistration again. Thank you. I am grateful for your commitment to assisting students and I am pleased to be among the inaugural recipients of this scholarship. I will never forget your contributions to my future. Please extend my gratitude to the CEO Mr Wes Edens. I am truly grateful.
Sincerely,
Crystal Duncombe (Dr)"
