‘A beacon of sunshine’
at Christmas time

Delivering joy in Puerto Rico
In December 2021, we partnered with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico (B&GC) and United Way to deliver meals, including the traditional holiday feast of slow-roasted pork legs known as pernils, to 700 families in disadvantaged communities.
“Like all the donations you have given us, the picnics arrived just in time," said Sister Teresita Rivera of the Asociatión Pro Juventud y Comunidad Bo. Palmas (the Association for Youth and Community), one of the recipient organizations. “Thank you for your unconditional support. The donation came like a beacon of sunshine, at the time we needed it most. We always love being able to offer a Christmas dinner to our participants. When their donations arrived, our hearts were filled with joy knowing that there are companies that do good through the United Way of Puerto Rico.”
The B&GC distributed the meals to their clubhouses, while United Way distributed the meals to youth and elderly centers throughout the island, including:

- Centro Geriátrico El Remanso, Inc. (elderly)
- Centro Cultural y de Servicios de Cantera (youngsters and elderly)
- Centro Comunitario Rvda. Inés J. Figueroa Rio Piedras (youngsters and elderly)
- Centro Santa Luisa (elderly)
- CREARTE (youngsters)
- Casa de Niños Manuel Fernández Juncos (boys’ shelter)
- Esperanza para la Vejez (elderly)
- Fund. Hogar Niñito Jesús (boys’ and girls’ shelter)
- Hogares Rafaela Ybarra (girls’ shelter)
- Hogar de Niñas de Cupey (girls’ shelter)
- Hogar Fátima (girls’ shelter)
Whether we’re delivering LNG, pernils or delicious meals, we’re extra grateful to play a small part in making the holidays brighter for our communities around the world!
