Powering Brazil with positive energy
ENERGY FILLED STORY
Bem vindo
ao Brasil!
Brazil, the world’s fifth-largest country, is known worldwide for its soccer obsession, Rio Carnival, tropical beaches, Amazon rainforest, rich coffee – and now it has joined the New Fortress Energy liquefied natural gas (LNG) family in a big way as well. With our recent acquisition of Hygo Energy Transition Ltd., Brazilians can power their vibrant country with NFE’s positive, greener, cleaner liquefied natural gas (LNG) energy.
We’ve expanded our footprint with four new LNG terminals in Brazil
One is already operating, and all are strategically located to bring a better energy source to the country’s eastern coast.
- Located the farthest north is Barcarena, which will be ideally located to bring cleaner energy to the Amazon River basin.
- Next is Suape, which will bring clean, affordable energy to a rapidly growing region of Brazil.
- Already delivering big energy to Brazil’s smallest state is our Sergipe LNG terminal.
- Rounding out our Brazilian portfolio will be Santa Catarina, which will bring liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the country’s southern region.
We now have liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities in North America and South America, as well as in the Caribbean, positioning us to become a premier global gas-to-power company bringing more clean, affordable, reliable, positive energy to growing markets around the world. That’s what our new Brazilian LNG communities call “uma cuisa muito boa” – a very good thing.
